Supergravities

Abstract:
In this seminar I will introduce at an intuitive level the notion of a
supergravity. Why supergravities are physically interesting I will explain
in a 'sketchy rush' through modern high-energy physics. After this long
introduction I will focus on two aspects: (1) supersymmetry and
(2) dimensional reduction. These two concepts play an important role in
contemporary high-energy physics.
