Algebras of generalized functions

Abstract: I present a short introduction to the theory of Colombeau generalized functions, which permits to define a 'multiplication of distributions' with strong consistency results with classical distributional operations. The formulation of this theory on manifolds then enables us to give a flow theorem for singular ordinary differential equations there and to consider singular space-times on manifolds in a mathematically rigid way.
