Faculty of Mathematics
The Faculty of Mathematics is located at Oskar-Morgenstern-Platz 1, 1090 Vienna. If we are reimbursing your travel expenses please save original tickets for public transportation to and from the airport/train station. Please note that we will reimburse taxis only in exceptional circumstances.

From the airport: Take a train that stops at “Wien Mitte”. The standard option is the train S7 in the direction “Floridsdorf”, but depending on the time of day there may be faster alternatives with names like REX or RailJet. Get off at “Wien Mitte” and switch to subway line U4 (green) in the direction “Heiligenstadt”. Your train ticket from ÖBB should have the phrase “inkl. Wien Kernzone”, in which case it is valid for the subway ride and you do not need to buy an additional ticket. At “Roßauer Lände”, leave the train and exit through the rear station. Follow the footpath to the first intersection. The Faculty of Mathematics is the modern tower across the street.

From the Hauptbahnhof: Take the subway line U1 (red) in the direction “Leopoldau”. At “Schwedenplatz” switch to subway line U4 (green) in the direction “Heiligenstadt”. At “Roßauer Lände”, leave the train and exit through the rear station. Follow the footpath to the first intersection. The Faculty of Mathematics is the modern tower across the street.
A more scenic alternative is to take tram line D in the direction “Nußdorf”. This will take you around the Ringstraße. Exit at “Schlickgasse” and walk two blocks east.

From the Westbahnhof: Take the subway line U3 (orange) in the direction “Simmering”. At “Volkstheater” switch to tram line D in the direction “Nußdorf”. Exit at “Schlickgasse” and walk two blocks east.

The hotels we use are typically within walking distance of the Faculty. There are several good restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood, particularly on the street Servitengasse.
