Wednesday April 2, 2008 (afternoon).
Participants are expected to arrive for the dinner on Sunday and leave
after lunch on Wednesday.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME
The main speakers of this session will be:
Anders Björner
(KTH, Stockholm)
"Three Topics in Topological Combinatorics"
and
Mihai Ciucu
(Indiana University, Bloomington, and Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta)
"Random tilings with gaps and electrostatics"
There will be time for a limited number of talks by participants (about 25
minutes each talk).
Here is the tentative programme.
ACCOMMODATION
Participants will be housed in the Bundesinstitut
für Erwachsenenbildung, Strobl, in double
rooms or in single rooms. The rates are
70 Euro (board and lodging; per person, per day)
for a single room and 55 Euro (board and lodging;
per person, per day) for staying in a double room.
HOW TO GET THERE?

If you come by car, you must take the Westautobahn A1.
You take the exit Thalgau respectively Mondsee to the
Wolfgangsee-Bundesstraße B158. You reach Strobl on the B 158.

- If you come by train, you must go to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof.
From the station, you walk 200 meters to the Bushaltestelle
Südtirolerplatz/Busleiste 5. From there, there are buses to Strobl
at 10:15, 12:15, 14:15, 16:15, 18:15, 19:15, 21:15.
The last bus leaves at 21:15.
The bus takes approximately 70 minutes.
We will organise transportation from the bus stop in Strobl to
the Bildungsinstitut. (The bus stop is about 800 metres
from the Bildungsinstitut. See the
local map.
The "H" marks the bus stop, the "b" the Bundesinstitut.)
- The closest "big" airport is Munich. From there it takes about
4 hours to Strobl by train and bus. To see what your connections

If you fly into Salzburg Airport "Wolfgang
Amadeus Mozart", you take a bus Nr. 2 (leaves every 10, respectively
20 minutes) to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. The bus takes approximately
20 minutes. From there you follow the
instructions above for arriving by train.
