Research: Continuation of the work of Nikolaus Viertl: small amplitude waves in two-layer shallow water flows which can be described by a triple-deck problem with a cubic non-linearity.
Current focus on:
* parameter study of the governing equations, especially the transition classical /non-classical shocks currently using a Crank-Nicholson scheme of second order for the streamwise direction
* development of a new algorithm capable of treating separation: discretization of the full system using a nonlinear equation solver based on the Powell Hybrid-algorithm (with usage of a sparse matrix solver)

Diploma thesis: Rekonstruktionsmethoden fuer die tensorielle Neutronentomographie; advisor: H. Leeb
