Research: Finite-element approximations of energy-transport equations for semiconductors
The topic of my work is the modelling of energy-transport equations for semiconductor devices. Due to the complexity of the semi-classical transport equations, which are coupled, nonlinear partial differential equations of various types, and the varying of the input parameters over several orders of magnitude, complex numerical schemes have been developed to make the problem computable. The goal of my research is to include the interaction of semiconductor devices with their surrounding (at least concerning the energy transport, i.e. the temperature).
