Research:
My area of research is the analysis of partial differential equations arising
from mathematical physics. First problem I considered was to obtain
quantitative results for the convergence to equilibrium for a kinetic model
problem related to a wave-particle interaction in cometary flows.
Now we are considering a problem related to semiconductor modelling,
namelly the modelling of electron-hole recombination-generation via trap
states in the forbidden energy band. The aim is to satisfy the so-called
Shockley-Read-Hall model in the context of a drift-diffusion description of
charge carrier flow and to extend this model to a kinetic transport
description.
