Title: Shortcut graphs.
Speaker: Nima Hoda (ENS Paris)
Abstract: Shortcut graphs are graphs satisfying a very weak nonpositive curvature condition having to do with metric distortion of cycles. The main results that I plan to present are that hyperbolic, Coxeter and cocompactly cubulated groups are "strongly shortcut", that \(BS(1,2)\) is "shortcut" and that shortcut (resp. strongly shortcut) groups are finitely presented and have exponential (resp. polynomial) isoperimetric functions (and so have decidable word problem).
