Title: Shortcut graphs.
Speaker: Nima Hoda (ENS Paris)
Abstract: Shortcut graphs are graphs satisfying a very weak nonpositive curvature condition having to do with metric distortion of cycles. The main results that I plan to present are that hyperbolic, Coxeter and cocompactly cubulated groups are "strongly shortcut", that $$BS(1,2)$$ is "shortcut" and that shortcut (resp. strongly shortcut) groups are finitely presented and have exponential (resp. polynomial) isoperimetric functions (and so have decidable word problem).
