Workshop: Advances in the theory of automorphic forms and their L-functions

Mini Courses

Freydoon Shahidi "Eisenstein series and L-functions"

Starts on: Wednesday, October 16, 2 p.m.

Abstract: We will discuss briefly the theory Eisenstein series and their consequences in the study of automorphic L-functions. We hope to also address the case of inner forms. This will be an introduction to my talk "Arthur parameters and L-functions" during the conference.

Neven Grbac "Cohomology of arithmetic groups and automorphic forms"

Starts on: Wednesday, October 16, 3:30 p.m.

Abstract: In this minicourse we will study the space of automorphic forms on the adelic reductive group over a number field, and briefly mention the connection to cohomology of arithmetic groups. We hope to include the decomposition along the cuspidal support, Langlands spectral theory and Arthur classification for the L^2 part, and the Franke filtration. These notions will be illustrated by the example of split symplectic group of rank 2.
